Founded in 2002, the Maple Industry Council (MIC), affiliated with the Conseil de la transformation alimentaire du Québec (CTAQ), annually brings together some fifty authorized buyers annually, i.e. any processing or sales company that receives and purchases bulk maple syrup or water from a Quebec producer.
Maple syrup packers for nearly 100 years.
Since its beginning in 1925, the maple processing industry has continuously evolved.
Today, the Maple Industrie Council has 23 members who purchase 99% of the bulk syrup sold by the Agence centralisée des Producteurs et productrices acéricoles du Québec, as well as 34 authorized buyers and members active in other sectors, such as maple syrup packers, non-maple food packers, retailers and companies active in the HRI sector or in the public markets network.
The MIC member companies process maple syrup in various forms: syrup, sugar, flakes, butter and more. They are true ambassadors of maple products, promoting and selling them in over 70 countries across five continents.
